Every unit moves through the same four stages, scaled to grade level. Students study the content directly, apply it through artistic practice, refine it through critique and revision, and then demonstrate what they know in the form the unit calls for, whether that's a test, a paper, a build, or a performance.

Whether the unit covers ancient civilizations, the human body, or a Shakespeare play, students build something with their hands as part of understanding it, from sculpture and scale models to set pieces, costumes, and prototypes, and the build is graded against the academics.

WRITING AS A CREATIVE PRACTICE

Page students write monologues, short fiction, scripts, exhibition copy, and criticism, a wider range of forms than most schools ask for, because creative writing is treated as a real discipline rather than a unit at the end of the year.

PRESENTING TO A REAL AUDIENCE
